Patrice Bergeron and Milan Lucic each scored goals for the Boston Bruins, but a third-period rally by the Carolina Hurricanes in which the B's surrendered three goals led to a 4-2 victory for the Canes on Saturday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Bergeron's goal was the first of the game, and it came on an assist from Johnny Boychuk at 6:13 of the second period. Patrick Dwyer tied the game with his fifth goal of the season, assisted by Brandon Sutter, at 10:30 of the same period.
Lucic potted his 16th goal of the season 1:21 into the third period, assisted by David Krejci. However, the Hurricanes answered with three unanswered scores -- Justin Faulk (4) at 13:58, Jay Harrison (7) at 18:30 and Eric Staal (11) at 18:58 on an empty net -- to claim the victory.
Tim Thomas made 17 saves on 20 shots for the B's and Cam Ward had 33 saves.
