Bruins 7, Canadiens 3: Zdeno Chara, Boston Rout Montreal In Halifax

Zdeno Chara and six others scored one goal a piece for the Boston Bruins in a 7-3 rout of the Montreal Canadiens in their third preseason game on Sunday night in Halifax, NS.

Scott Gomez scored the game's first goal, unassisted, at the 6:45 mark in the first period. Joe Corvo, making his unofficial Bruins debut, scored a power play goal at 7:57 (assisted by Chara) in the opening period, tying the score.

The B's scored three unanswered goals in the second period, with Brad Marchand scoring on a power play at 8:49 (assisted by Chris Clark), Daniel Paille scoring on a shorthanded goal at 10:55 (unassisted) and Chara scoring on an unassisted shorthanded goal at 19:24.

Both teams scored two goals each in the final period, with the Bruins lighting the lamp on Tyler Seguin's first goal of the preseason at 5:09 (unassisted) and Jordan Caron's first preseason goal, also unassisted, at 12:41. Montreal received goals from Brian Willsie on a power play (assisted by Aaron Palushaj) at 1:29 and Palushaj (unassisted) at 9:15. Anton Khudobin was in between the piped for all three period for the Bruins.

Boston improved to 2-0-1 in preseason games while Montreal dropped to 1-4-0. The B's and Habs will meet once again on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. EDT at the Bell Centre.
