Boston Bruins Training Camp 2011: Zdeno Chara Suffers Leg Injury

Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara suffered a leg injury during Monday's practice at training camp, and his status for the B's black and white scrimmage on Tuesday is uncertain.

Chara took a puck off the leg and appeared to grab the inside of his left knee as the play ended and he then proceeded to leave the ice and head to the locker room. Claude Julien told reporters Chara's injury was a contusion.

"He just got a shot on the inside of the leg there," Claude Julien said after the practice. "Right now it's a contusion, and we're just going to evaluate it as we go along here. This is training camp, and if he needs an extra day, we'll give him an extra day. If he's OK tomorrow, he'll go. We'll see. It's a day-by-day bruise, a shot inside the leg." (via WEEI)
