"Taken to the outside and led on back now, for Horton, SCORRRRRRRRRRRE!"
And just like that, thanks to Nathan Horton's overtime goal, the Boston Bruins defeated the Montreal Canadiens in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series Wednesday night. It's the first time Boston has won a series after trailing 2-0, ever.
For Horton, it was his second overtime goal of the seven-game series.
Afterward, teammate Patrice Bergeron said of Horton, a 25-year-old from Ontario making his first career NHL playoff appearance, "I guess he was saving 'em up for the game-winners ... he's a clutch player."
The win gives Boston the series win. They advance to face the Philadelphia Flyers in a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference semi-finals, when the Flyers became just the third team in NHL history to come all the way back from a 3-0 deficit and shock the Bruins.
