Bruins Sign 2011 First Rounder Dougie Hamilton To Contract

According to ESPN Boston's Joe McDonald, the Boston Bruins have reached an agreement for 2011 First-Round pick Dougie Hamilton to a reported entry-level contract. Hamilton was invited to B's training camp but was later cut.

Hamilton, 18, was chosen ninth by the Bruins with the ninth overall selection in the NHL draft. Currently in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), The defenseman is seventh in the league in scoring with 11 goals and 30 assists with a total of 41 points. Hamilton is overjoyed with the opportunity to play in the NHL and can't wait up suit up for the B's.

"Obviously, it's a big honor for me," he said. "It's kind of been something I've worked towards ever since I got drafted. Just to have it finally happen, it's really exciting for me and my family and it's just really exciting." (via ESPN Boston
