The Bruins finished off the second period with fewer shots on net, but two more goals than they had in the first period. Newly signed David Krejci put the Bruins on the board at 4:20. Nathan Horton had the puck down low and found a wide open crashing Krejci coming down the slot. His nifty pass found Krejci's stick and the back of the net in a matter of seconds to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
But, just 48 seconds later, the Leafs responded with a goal from Mikhail Grabovski. From the right faceoff circle, Grabovski took a feed and fired a shot past Dennis Seidenberg and just under the crossbar to tie the game.
However, as the Bruins typically do, they came back late in the period to net another. Chris Kelly netted his 10th goal of the season off a thread-the-needle pass from Rich Peverley right in front of the net. Kelly crashed the net and one-timed the pass in.
The Maple Leafs are 0-for-3 on the power play tonight, while not surrendering any penalties to the Bruins in the second period.
