Bruins Vs. Coyotes: Krejci Scores Early, Game Tied 1-1 After The First Period Of Play

David Krejci’s seventh goal of the season gave the Boston Bruins a short-lived 1-0 lead over the Phoenix Coyotes early in the first period. Ray Whitney would score his 13th goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1, which is where things stand after one period of play in Phoenix.

Adam McQuaid and Raffi Torres dropped the gloves, with McQuaid picking up an extra 10-minute misconduct penalty and an instigator penalty. Together, those two players accounted for all 24 penalty minutes in the first period of play.

Both teams had 10 shots on goal.

The Bruins entered Wednesday night with a seven-point lead over Toronto in the Northeast Division, and one point behind the New York Rangers for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers are in Washington, while Toronto has the night off.

The Bruins continue a swing through the West with a game in Dallas on Saturday, Dec. 31.
