Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic has been suspended one game by the NHL for his hit on Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers during Saturday's 6-0 win for Boston, according to multiple reports.

TSN's Bob McKenzie was the first to report the news. Lucic had a phone conversation with the NHL's Vice President of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan on Monday to discuss the hit, which resulted in Lucic being ejected from them game.

Lucic hit Rinaldo from behind and received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for the hit, which can be seen in this video.

Lucic did not comment about the conversation or possible suspension during Monday morning's skate around, but Rinaldo spoke about the hit and disagreed with the NHL's ruling.

"It's hockey, you hit and go into the boards, I don't think it was dirty at all," Rinaldo said. "Shoulder-to-shoulder and just momentum. He's big guy, maybe double my weight. His momentum carried him into the boards awkwardly. I don't think it was dirty at all." (via CSNPhilly.com)
