It appears that forward Jordan Caron and defenseman Steven Kampfer are quickly becoming the Ross Ventrone(s) of the Boston Bruins. Well, maybe not that extreme.
On Friday afternoon, the Bruins announced that they were sending the two young skaters down the the Providence Bruins, the team's AHL Hockey affiliate. Both are expected to play for Providence on Saturday and Sunday. Caron has played in 13 games for the Bruins this season and has a goal and two assists while Kampfer has one assist in his one game.
The news of Caron and Kampfer's demotion may mean that defenseman and team captain Zdeno Chara may be ready to return to the ice for the Bruins. Chara has missed the last two games for the B's with a lower-body injury. As James Murphy of ESPN Boston reports, Chara participated in a full-contact practice on Friday and could be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
