Bruins Vs. Kings: B's Look To Capitalize After L.A. Fires Coach

There are a lot of unknowns going into tonight's game between the Bruins and the Kings, and both teams are looking to capitalize on each others misfortunes to gain an upperhand and a win tonight.

The L.A. Kings announced yesterday that they have relieved former head coach Terry Murray of his head coach duties. According to Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombard, assistant coach John Stevens will stand as interim head coach.

That could be exactly what the Bruins needed to hear, after a couple of injuries to key players have them a bit on the shorthanded side of play.

Captain Zdeno Chara left Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets with a lower-body injury and while he said he has been feeling better than expected, he is still most likely going to be held out of the lineup tonight against the Kings.

Winger Daniel Paille, who was out with a mild concussion has also been progressing well, and says he has just been resting and making sure no symptoms started to creep up.

The Kings have had their fair share of problems in the past few weeks too. They have lost their last four games and have only won two of their last eight.

Meanwhile, the Bruins were able to stop a 3-game losing trend on Saturday, picking up a 5-3 win against the Blue Jackets. After the B's had a phenomenal November, they came back and have had a shaky start to December.  Tim Thomas went from having a 10-0-0 record, to dropping a 2-0 decision to the Panthers, and being pulled in the Blue Jackets game after giving up three goals, in his last two starts.

The puck drops at TD Garden tonight at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NESN and aired on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
