If the Boston Bruins are going to hold on to their 5-2 lead and defeat the New York Islanders, they’re going to have to do it without left wing Daniel Paille.
That’s because the French Canadian was sent to the locker room after defenseman Steve Staios tagged him with a slapshot from the right point.
Despite painting the ice of the TD Garden with a few pints of blood, Paille skated to the locker room under his own power.
It seems that Boston has taken the injury personally, as the B’s have roared back and scored two goals following the bloodbath.
Milan Lucic (assisted by Nathan Horton and David Krejci) tipped one in at the 4:34 mark to put Boston up by two before Nathan Horton (assisted by Joe Corvo and Dennis Seidenberg) wristed one in to give the Bruins a 5-2 lead.
Stay tuned for more updates to Paille’s injury as they become available.
