Bruins Vs. Islanders Score: Boston Leads New York 3-2 End Of Second Period

We’re two periods into the Bruins Vs. Islanders game from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, where the hometown boys lead their New York rivals by a score of 3-2.

After five goals were scored in the opening frame, both teams settled in on defense, keeping the puck out of the net and holding it to a one score game.

The Bruins may want to consider themselves lucky in that regard, having spent some time in the penalty box for two separate infractions.

The first came when left winger Milan Lucic sat for two minutes for being mean to Travis Hamonic (roughing). Unfortunately for New York, they were unable to capitalize on the power play, thanks to a couple of big-time saves by goaltender Tuukka Rask.

Shortly thereafter, Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara was benched for two minutes after hooking forward Brian Rolston at the 14:28 mark. Again, the visitors couldn’t get past Rask and had to settle for a goose egg.

Can the B’s keep the lead? Stay tuned.
