You could say the Maple Leafs should have broken up the goal-scoring play that happened to give the B's the early 1-0 lead in the first. But when it comes down to it, it was a pretty pass from Rich Peverley that found Tyler Seguin's stick for less than a second before proceeding to the back of the net.
That was Seguin's 5th goal of the season, and it was also another power play goal for the Bruins.
However, the Maple Leafs out shot the Bruins and also won in the faceoff category 10-7. Tim Thomas made all seven saves in the first period, whereas Ben Scrivens stopped 4 of the five he faced.
