Heading into the second intermission at Nassau Coliseum , it continues to be all Boston Bruins in this one against the New York Islanders.
After giving up three goals, Islander goal tender Rick DiPietro was pulled by head coach Jack Capuano and replaced by Anders Nilsson in net. The Bruins were able to warrant two power play opportunities off a holding penalty and a rare too many men on the ice penalty that sent Mark Streit and and Milan Jurcina to the box. Despite these chances, Nilsson has effectively kept the Bruins in check.
Bruins goalie Tim Thomas saw more action in the second period as New York had eleven shots on him, but no goals to show for it. With one period left, it’s still all B’s in this one.
