Bruins Vs. Lightning: Boston Scores Twice, Leads 2-1 After 2nd Period

BOSTON - Rich Peverley and Adam McQuaid each scored a goal in the second period and the Boston Bruins took a 2-1 lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning after two periods in a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday evening at TD Garden.

Peverley's strike was assisted by Brad Marchand and Johnny Boychuk at 2:04 in the second period. Tampa Bay answered with a goal of their own as Martin St. Louis scored his 300th career NHL goal, assisted by Ryan Malone and Vincent Lecavalier, at 3:20 in the period. McQuaid scored the go-ahead goal at 4:58 in the second, assisted by Tyler Seguin and Daniel Paille

Boston has 30 shots in the game while Tampa Bay has recorded 15 shots.Tim Thomas has been nearly perfect in net for Boston, stopping 14-of-15 shots while Mathieu Garon has 28 saves on 30 shots.
