The Bruins managed to find a goal in the second period, but a Canadiens goal earlier in the period meant that it only served to bring the Bruins back to a 2-goal deficit.
The goal, coming from David Desharnais, once again came on a Montreal power play shortly after Tuukka Rask managed to stop a pair of Habs shots. Andrew Ference was the man who earned the penalty in the 11th minute for roughing, and while the Bruins were able to kill much of the two minutes off harmlessly, the last second shot from Desharnais proved too much.
The Bruins’ lone score so far came from Milan Lucic with four minutes to go in the period. Nathan Horton picked up the assist on the long shot that got past Carey Price for the goal.
