The Stanley Cup hangover has proved a difficult foe for the Boston Bruins so far. Through nine games, the Bruins occupy the bottom of the Northeast Division and Eastern Conference.

The ESPN NHL power rankings list the Bruins (3-6-0) at the 20th spot, one position ahead of the Rangers and one behind the Islanders. ESPN did note that "the Stanley Cup hangover can't keep these guys down forever."

The Fox Sports NHL power rankings rate the Bruins 18th, down ten spots from last week's ranking, sandwiched in between the Devils and Rangers. Fox Sports points out Boston's inconsistency, but offers praise for Tyler Seguin, the 19-year old center who has three goals and six assists through nine games.

The Hockey News also references Boston's inconsistency, giving the Bruins the 17th slot, between the Blues and the Islanders.
