Savard Rejoins Full Contact Practices

Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has been cleared of post-concussion symptoms, and joined the team for a full-contact practice Saturday morning, according to Comcast SportsNet New England.

Savard has set a broad timeline for his return – “in December,” he told reporters – but the team is letting him work his way back carefully.

Despite the flu bug going throughout the team, the Bruins are committed to not rushing Savard back. Savard attempted a return early from his initial March hit to assist in the playoffs, which he admits may have been too early.

Savard told CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty that he is placing an importance on being prepared once he returns to game action.

“…I need to make sure I can jump and contribute. I don’t want to jump in and need to get my feet wet. I want to contribute right away, so I’ll wait until I’m ready.”
