The Tampa Bay Lightning scored three goals in the second period on their way to an easy win over a "lethargic" Boston Bruins team Monday night, 3-1. It was just Boston's second road loss this season.
There really wasn't a whole lot of positive notes from the game says Stanley Cup of Chowder.
- Zdeno Chara looked lost at times tonight. He finished with a -2 and gave the puck away 3 times. It was not a good night for the Chara-Ference pairing. Ference finished at -2 and was on the ice for all 3 Lightning goals.
- The Bruins were out-shot 36-27.
- It was not a perfect game for Tuukka Rask, but he made some huge saves to keep the B's in this one. This easily could have been a blowout for the Lightning.
The Lightning were led by Steven Stamkos, who became the first 20-goal scorer this season. The 20-year-old has five more goals than the next best.
"What more can you say about Stamkos?" Boston coach Claude Julien said. "He's on fire. Give him an opportunity and he's going to take advantage of it."
The Bruins (11-6-2) will aim to put an end to their current two-game losing streak Wednesday night against the Florida Panthers (9-10-0).
