Marc Savard is reportedly two to three days away from skating with the Boston Bruins, in what would be his first team workouts of the season.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli told the Boston Globe that the team has Jan. 1 pegged as the comeback day for Savard, but he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from post-concussion syndrome. Chiarelli told the Globe's Kevin Paul Dupont:
"He’s doing much, much better. He has been symptom-free for a while now, increasing his skating . . . all in all, he looks good.’’
Chiarelli told John Bishop of BostonBruins.com that the center's symptoms are subsiding and that he is skating towards game shape:
"He’s starting to feel like he’s in good shape. There hasn’t been any lingering side effects that we talked about early on in his rehab."
