The Boston College Eagles beat the Auburn Tigers by one point on Wednesday, 50-49. Freshman Olivier Hanlan put BC ahead after hitting a free throw with 20 seconds left in the game, and the Eagles survived a missed shot at the buzzer by Auburn's Frankie Sullivan.
Sullivan was the high-scorer in the game with 23 points, and he made a four-point play with under a minute remaining to tie the game before Hanlan went to the line.
Boston College saw the return of leading scorer Ryan Anderson to their starting lineup, but got little lift offensively from the sophomore. Anderson only played 19 minutes and scored just three points, going 0-5 from the field, but he did contribute with seven rebounds.
Hanlan led the Eagles with 19 points, and another freshman, Joe Rahon, added 15 points.
Boston College broke a three-game losing streak with the win. They will next play Bryant University on Nov. 25.
