The madness has officially hit the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament.
On Sunday, four teams remained in the semifinals: Top-seeded Niagara, No. 4 seed Iona, No. 6 seed Manhattan and No. 7 seed Fairfield.
The first game of the day pitted Niagara against Iona. Led by 20 points and 17 rebounds from David Laury, the Gaels pulled the upset with a 79-73 win. Trailing by one at halftime, Iona got hot midway through the second half and never looked back. Free throws and a couple of defensive stops sealed the deal down the stretch.
Lamont Jones had 17 points, while Taaj Ridley chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds.
In the later action, No. 6 Manhattan cruised to a 60-42 win over Fairfield. The Jaspers really dug in on the defensive end, forcing Fairfield to shoot just under 35 percent from the field. The Stags were also 0-for-9 from behind the three-point arc.

On Monday, Iona and Manhattan will play for the MAAC championship. The winner will go dancing at the NCAA Tournament, while the other will have to hope for an invitation to the NIT or other postseason event. Tipoff will come at 9 p.m. ET, with ESPN2 providing the television coverage.
