On Sunday afternoon, the New England Patriots are at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee for their 2012-13 season opener against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans finished last season with a 9-7 record in their first year under the direction of head coach Mike Munchak.
Starting at quarterback for the Titans will be former Washington Huskies signal caller Jake Locker. Sunday will mark the first ever NFL start for the 2011 first round draft choice (8th overall). The 24-year-old Bellingham, Washington native spent his entire rookie season as the backup quarterback behind Boston College product Matt Hasselbeck. In five career National Football League appearances, Locker has thrown for four touchdowns, zero interceptions and 542 yards, good for an impressive 99.4 passer rating. It will be interesting to see how the youngster will react to the many different defensive schemes that Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick will throw at him on Sunday.
