FOXBORO - Neither side could keep pace with the high scoring first half, and the Indiana Hoosiers kept their halftime lead intact, leading the UMass Minutemen, 38-6, after three quarters of play at the first FBS home game in UMass history at Gillette Stadium.
Mike Wegzyn, starting his second game at quarterback for the Minutemen, has completed 18-of-26 passes for 151 yards through the first three quarters. Marken Michel has five catches for 68 yards and Michael Cox has carried the ball 15 times for 36 net yards. Darren Thellen leads the Minutemen defense with 11 tackles (nine solo).
Tre Roberson, who rushed for two first-quarter touchdowns and threw for another, has 105 rushing yards and 98 passing yards, but left the game early in the second quarter with a left leg injury. Cameron Coffman, who replaced Roberson under center, has 139 passing yards. Cody Latimer has 60 receiving yards and Tevin Coleman has rushed for 73 yards.
