UMass Vs. Indiana Score Update: Hoosiers Up 21-6 After First Quarter

FOXBORO - The UMass Minutemen defense had no answer for Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Tre Roberson in the first quarter, as the sophomore rushed for two long touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Hoosiers to a 21-6 lead over the Minutemen after one quarter of play in the home opener on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

Roberson then found Shane Wynn for a five-yard touchdown pass at the 7:27 mark.

UMass was able to score its first points of the FBS era after a trick play that resulted in a 56 yard pass from quarterback Mike Wegzyn to Marken Michel set the Minutemen up in the red zone. Wegzyn completed the drive with a 16-yard quarterback keeper, but Blake Lucas missed the extra point, keeping Indiana in the lead.
