Serena Williams advanced to the U.S. Open final to face top-seeded Victoria Azarenka on Saturday after yet another easy victory. Williams has yet to drop a set the entire tournament and has lost a total of only 19 games. She defeated Italy's Sara Errani 6-1 and 6-2 in their semifinal match and Errani had a large amount of praise for her afterwards:
"Given that men are always quick to say women are a lot worse ... I'd love to see her play in a (lower-level) men's tournament and see how they deal with her. It's easy to talk. On the court, it would be different," the 10th-seeded Sara Errani said.
Azarenka reached the final after defeating Maria Sharapova in three sets. The top seed dropped the first set before coming back to win the final two.
The men's semifinal matches will take place on Saturday. In the first contest, Andy Murray will face Tomas Berdych. In the second, Novak Djokovic will take on David Ferrer. Berdych advanced after stunning top seed, Roger Federer.
