U.S. Open 2012 Results: Play Suspended For The Night, Roddick-del Potro Resumes Wednesday

In the middle of a first-set tiebreak, inclement weather suspended play between Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Roddick and the rest of the action from the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows for the night. Play will resume Wednesday.

No. 20 Roddick had broken del Potro early in the match and looked to be cruising to a first-set victory before del Potro broke back to bring the set on serve and force a tiebreaker.

Stanislas Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic were also in action at Louis Armstrong Stadium, with Djokovic leading 2-0 in the first set when the weather struck again Tuesday night. Djokovic had taken advantage of his first and only break-point opportunity against the No. 18 Wawrinka.

Janko Tipsarevic was on the verge of taking the first set from Philipp Kohlschreiber on the Grandstand, while an earlier suspended match between No. 3 Maria Sharapova and No. 11 Marion Bartoli was still suspended at 4-0 Bartoli.
