Buffalo vs. UConn 2012: Bloggers react

The UCONN Huskies beat the Buffalo Bulls 24-17 yesterday. SB Nation's Connecticut and Buffalo communities react.

Mark L. Baer-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Although the Connecticut Huskies defeated the Bulls 24-17 yesterday, the folks at SB Nation's Connecticut community, The UConn Blog, are not particularly pleased with their team's performance.

This season has gone from bad to worse. Yes UConn won, but it was a seven point win over Buffalo at home. Against almost any other opponent UConn would have lost.

Part of the problem, per The UConn Blog, are injuries on defense, poor playcalling, and improper utilization of skill players' talents. None of which are particular causes for optimism amongst Huskies fans.

UConn heads to Rutgers next weekend and if the same team that showed up today shows up then the Huskies will get crushed. Looking ahead I think there is a good chance UConn beats Temple but you can't feel good about any other game on the schedule. Syracuse and USF are both dumpster fires so the Huskies may get lucky and split those games, but we're looking at a four- or five-win team at best.

Meanwhile, at UBBullRun, SB Nation's Buffalo community, gives the lions share of the blame to the Bulls coaching staff, grading their performance with an "F", adding:

The play calling on that last drive was terrible, just terrible.

Suffice it to say that nobody really left yesterday's game all that thrilled with their team's performance.
