Ohio Vs. UMass final score: Minutemen lose a heartbreaker, 37-34

The Ohio Bobcats won a thriller against the UMass Minutemen, beating the home team 37-34 on Saturday afternoon.

The Minutemen remain winless despite putting forth a spirited effort. UMass was leading 27-20 entering the final quarter, but couldn't hold off of Ohio, allowing 17 unanswered points before answering with a late touchdown.

On a positive note, quarterback Mike Wegzyn had his best game of the young season, completing 27-of-51 for 375 yards and four touchdowns.

Deion Walker and Alan Williams were Wegzyn's top choices on the afternoon, gaining 162 and 106 receiving yards respectively. Williams hauled in three touchdowns while Walker brought in one.

Michael Cox also had a nice game for UMass, picking his way through the Ohio defense for 76 yards on 22 attempts.

The big difference in the end was the play of workhorse running back Beau Blankenship, who accrued 271 yards and two scores on 43 carries. The touchdowns came in the final period on 5- and 40-yard runs.
