The Ohio Bobcats are leading the UMass Minutemen at halftime, 20-17.
UMass has been led offensively thus far by quarterback Mike Wegzyn. The youngster has completed 12-of-23 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Wegzyn was hot early on, hitting Alan Williams for a 27-yard score and then Williams once more on a 50-yard connection.
On the ground, the Minutemen have had some success when giving Michael Cox the ball, who has rushed for 52 yards on just seven carries.
However, UMass' defense has left quite a bit to be desired. Ohio has been able to go up and down the field, with running back Beau Blankenship gaining 150 yards on 24 carries in the first 30 minutes.
Tyler Tettleton has also been able to expose the Minutemen, throwing for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 10-of-15 passing. Trailing 17-13, Tettleton put the Bobcats ahead with a 41-yard strike to Chase Cochran with only 1:16 left in the half.
