The Boston College Eagles (1-2, 0-1 ACC) will play the underdog role against the No. 17 ranked Clemson Tigers (3-1, 0-1 ACC) when the two Atlantic Coast Conference foes get together on Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Boston College and Clemson have met 21 times, with the Tigers holding a 10-9-2 edge in the all-time series, although the Eagles have a 4-3 advantage since joining the ACC in 2005. The two schools last met on Oct. 8, 2011, when five field goals powered Clemson to a 36-14 victory. Tajh Boyd threw for 283 yards and one score while Chase Rettig had 129 passing yards, one touchdown and an interception. Sammy Watkins, who will not play on Saturday due to injury, also torced the Eagles' defense for 152 receiving yards on seven receptions.

The Eagles enter Saturday's game having lost their last game against the Northwestern Wildcats, 22-13. Rettig threw for 291 yards, but the BC defense didn't have an answer for the triple threat of Kain Colter, Trevor Siemian and Mike Trumpy, who accounted for 373 combined yards.

Clemson opened the year with two straight wins, but drop a high-scoring affair to No. 5 ranked Florida State, 49-37, last weekend. Boyd had 237 passing yards and three scores and Deandre Hopkins had five catches for 88 yards.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2, with Bob Wischusen, Danny Kanell and Maria Taylor on the call. The game can also be heard on the WEEI Sports Radio Network, with Jon Meterparel, Pete Cronan and Brian St. Pierre bring you the action, and on Sirius 132 and XM 194.
