Bobby Valentine thinks he's 'coming back' in 2013

Bobby Valentine might be back. Or he might not. Valentine told media members on Wednesday that he was unsure of his future with the Boston Red Sox, the team he has managed (very unsuccessfully) this season.

"My gut feeling is that they haven't told me yet," said Valentine. "There hasn't been any dialogue. We've talked, but [not about the job], which makes me think I'm coming back. I don't know." (via WEEI)

Valentine has guided the team to a 69-86 record, its worst since the 1997 season. General consensus is that Valentine will be fired by ownership upon the completion of this season, and you have to think that Valentine knows this very well. He isn't likely to come out and publicly admit that, so this quote doesn't come as a surprise.

Unless, that is, Bobby V. is being serious. If so, he may be in for a surprise.
