On Saturday afternoon at Yager Stadium, the UMass Minutemen will try to win their first game of the season against the Miami (OH) RedHawks.
So far, it's been predictably rough sledding for the Minutemen. UMass has given each game its best shot but fallen woefully short against the UConn Huskies, Indiana Hoosiers and Michigan Wolverines by the combines score of 145-19.
However, one bright spot in the loss at Michigan was the play of senior running back Michael Cox, who gained 76 yards on 18 carries.
Miami (OH) comes into the game 1-2. The two losses have come at the hands of two excellent teams in the Boise State Broncos and Ohio State Buckeyes. The RedHawks lone win was over the Southern Illinois Salukis, 30-14.
Zac Dysert has played splendid football for Miami (OH) this year, completing 68.1% of his pass attempts. Against Boise State, Dysert was 20-of-27 for 176 yards in the defeat.
