Tyler Seguin, like so many of his peers, will be heading overseas to play hockey for EHC Biel in Switzerland during the NHL Lockout, according to a press release from the team. Seguin's deal will run through December 31, 2012 and he will report to the team this Saturday.

Seguin, 20, was drafted by the Boston Bruins with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Seguin saw limited action during his first season with the team, finishing with 11 goals and 11 assists in 74 games in 2011. Last season, Seguin took a big step forward, scoring 29 goals and registering 38 assists in 81 games.

The NHL Lockout officially began at 12:01 a.m. last Sunday after the collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players expired. The current labor strife is projected by many to take the entire 2012-13 season as a casualty.
