WWE Night Of Champions 2012: John Cena, CM Punk Battle For WWE Championship On Sunday

John Cena is looking for a little home cooking. The West Newbury, Massachusetts native returns to his home state for his biggest match since WrestleMania 28 as he faces Chicago native and current WWE Champion CM Punk with the championship title on the line at WWE Night Of Champions 2012, which begins at 8 p.m. ET Sunday at TD Garden in Boston, MA.

Cena, an 11-time WWE Champion who hasn't held the title since he lost it to Alberto del Rio at Hell In A Cell 2011 in a Triple Threat match that also featured CM Punk last October, is seeking his record 12th championship belt on Sunday, and will hopefully have the hometown fans on his side. However, that hasn't always been a given, as Cena is a very polarizing figure in the WWE and draws mixed reactions from crowds all over the country and world.

CM Punk will enter Night Of Champions 2012 having held the WWE Championship since taking it from del Rio at Survivor Series 2011, and by the time he enters the ring for his title fight, he will have held the strap for 301 days, one of the longest reigns in WWE history.

After retaining the championship at Summer Slam 2012 against Cena and The Big Show, CM Punk and Cena have been feuding one-on-one, with the beef focusing on Punk's supposed lack of respect shown to him. He may have a point, considering that during his impressive run as champion, Cena has main evented the majority of the pay per views during that time.

Aside from Cena vs. Punk, Sheamus and Alberto del Rio will fight for the World Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus, the current World Heavyweight Champion, has held the title since defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 28. Alberto del Rio hasn't held a title since 2011.

Other matches of note are Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler in a single match (no title involved, although Ziggler holds the Money In The Bank) and a tag team title match between current champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth and the team of Bryan and the demonic Kane.
