September 11, 2001: We Will Never Forget

We will never forget you, victims and heroes. What happened on the morning of September 11, 2001 was something that altered the course of so many lives and offered a glimpse at the true evil that exists in this world. Eleven years later, we've had time to heal, but the hurt is still there. The worst terrorist attack on United States soil will never be forgotten by those who lost loved ones and by millions of others who lived through the horrors.

In some ways, it would be nice to forget what happened that day. The attacks were truly awful, and they can't be described with mere words. However, there are things that should be remembered from that day. The bravery from the New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. emergency responders and the way our nation came together should never be forgotten.

Today, if you have not already, I ask that you would take time from your schedule (and yes, put the sports aside) to reflect and remember, even if it is painful. Here we are, eleven years later, and the very nation that those cowardly terrorists tried to break apart is still standing strong. We thank all of the heroes that stepped up to the call that day and we remember the victims who were robbed of their lives.

We miss you. We will never, ever forget you.
