CHESTNUT HILL - I can't tell you how great it is to be back. The sun is out, and it's making the brand new turf at Alumni Stadium, home of the Boston College Eagles' football team, look even better as we're roughly one and a half hours away from the season opener against the Miami Hurricanes (3:30 p.m. Eastern; TV/Radio: ABC, ESPN/WEEI). See for yourself.
The Eagles and Hurricanes will open the season, and each of their Atlantic Coast Conference campaigns, on Saturday, and each have plenty of things to work on. BC is down three key players as it opens the year while Miami has a very young and inexperience team. It will be interesting to see which side bends or breaks first.
One thing is certain, though. College football is back, and man, that's a great, great thing.
