Summer Olympics 2012 Medal Count: China Retakes Overall Lead

The Sunday events at the 2012 Olympic Games have all concluded, and the medal count has become official. Over at SB Nation studios the fellas have posted the daily medal-count video and here's what the standings look like...


As you can see, China has retaken the overall lead when it comes to medals, as it now has 61 overall including 30 gold medals. USA, which snagged the brief lead after Saturday, now sits just one medal behind the Chinese, as it has 60 total medals including 28 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze.

Continuing to make a run up the standings, is host Great Britain who now has 37 overall medals including 17 gold. Russia (35 medals) and Japan (27) round out the top five, respectfully.
