2012 U.S. Open Tennis Scores: Nicolas Almagro Comes Back; Pablo Andujar Hopes For Same

Nicolas Almagro has advanced to the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open by completing a come-from-behind victory over Philipp Petzschner on Thursday afternoon, 6-3, 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Almagro will face the winner of Flavio Cipolla and Jack Sock in the third round.

In addition, Pablo Andujar hopes to follow suit as he is on the verge over completing a come-back of his own. After dropping the first two sets against Feliciano Lopez, Andujar won the next two sets and sits with the a 4-2 lead in the final set.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga also hopes he can pull off a late match effort as the No. 5 seed currently trails Martin Klizan, 4-6, 6-1, 1-6, 1-4.

In the women's bracket, Ana Ivanovic, Maria Kirilenko, Jelena Jankovic and Dominika Cibulkov all advanced to the third round.
