The New England Revolution looked to be totally in control of their match against Chivas USA on Wednesday night, extending their lead by another goal in the 21st minute. Chivas had other ideas, however fighting back with a goal from former Revolution captain Shalrie Joseph in the 23rd minute.
Sene's goal, his second of the game, was nearly as dramatic as the first. Jerry Bengtson put in some great dirty work, muscling Joseph off the ball and flicking it to Sene. The Frenchman controlled, and rather than taking on the defender and pushing into the box, he let fly from 25 yards out. The ball bent right and then left, wrong-footing Dan Kennedy, who managed just a hand on the ball before it bulged the net.
The Goats were not ready to call it quits yet, however. A Nick LaBrocca corner found its way to Shalrie Joseph in the box relatively unmarked. Joseph rose up high, and with Matt Reis bearing down on him, headed the ball into the net.
