Revolution Vs. Chivas Update: Rauwshan McKenzie's Night Gets Worse, Own Goal Puts New England Ahead 2-0

An eerie sense of deja vu may be settling over New England Revolution fans on Wednesday night against Chivas USA as the Revs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, much like against Columbus on the weekend. This time, though, their lead was doubled through an own goal by Rauwshan McKenzie, whose night just seems to be going from bad to worse.

Kelyn Rowe streaked down the right flank and found the touchline before cutting in toward the net. His drilled cross was aimed directly for the foot of Jerry Bengtson, but McKenzie made the interception. Unfortunately for McKenzie, his touch simply deflected the ball into the net, giving the Revolution a 2-0 lead.

Replays from the box made it look as though Bengtson was the one who actually got the touch on the ball, but official scorers ruled it an own-goal.
