After one quarter, the New England Patriots and New York Giants are tied at 0-0. Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett has completed 5-of-7 passes for 15 yards, but failed to march the Pats offense into Giants territory.
The best drive for the Patriots offense came on their third possession, when they marched 29 yards on seven plays.
Neither team managed to produce a drive inside its opponent's territory, as the Patriots defense forced the Giants offense, led by quarterback Eli Manning, to two three-and-outs and just one drive of six plays for seven yards.
Manning finished the quarter 4-for-7 for 29 yards.
So far, Patriots running back Brandon Bolden has carried the ball seven times for 15 yards. Bolden also has two catches for six yards.
