Patriots Release Jabar Gaffney, 4 Other Players

The New England Patriots released five players and made various other roster moves on Monday in order to reach the 75-man limit. Of the players released, wide receiver Jabar Gaffney was the most notable. The team also let go of defensive lineman Tim Bulman, receiver Donté Stallworth, defensive back Ross Ventrone and defensive lineman Gerard Warren.

In addition to these cuts, the Patriots placed Will Allen, Josh Barrett and Spencer Larsen on injured reserve.

Tight end Jake Ballard and defensive lineman Myron Pryor were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Rookie offensive lineman Markus Zusevics was placed on the PUP-Non Football Injury List.

New England also claimed wide receiver Kerry Taylor off waivers from the Vikings. He is expected to mostly participate on the scout team.
