The massive trade that's been in the works between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox that will send veterans Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford out west is official, according to multiple reports. Nick Punto will join the afore-mentioned triumvirate in Dodger Blue, and the Red Sox will receive James Loney, Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster, Ivan DeJesus and Jerry Sands. The trade is so official, in fact, that travel arrangements have been made.

#dodgers have sent a plane. a-gon, beckett & punto are now in the air to LA.#trade
The trade is an obvious salary dump move by the Sox, who tried desperately to get rid of Beckett at the non-waiver trade deadline. They're 13-and-a-half games behind the New York Yankees in the division race, and have started to build up their farm system for the future.
