Red Sox Vs. Royals, Saturday Preview, TV Time And More

Despite the fact that Boston's proposed blockbuster trade has taken over the headlines, manager Bobby Valentine and his Red Sox do have actual baseball to play.

A night after defeating the Kansas City Royals, 4-3, in the series opener, the Red Sox play host to the Royals in the second game of a three-game set.

Boston's starter, though, isn't known. Josh Beckett is listed as Saturday's probable, but as he is one of the four Red Sox being sent to the Dodgers, it seems unlikely that he'll actually make the start.

Jeremy Guthrie will start for the Royals, looking to build on the success he's had in Kansas City. As a member of the Royals, Guthrie is 2-3 with a 3.23 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 39 innings. Guthrie has only walked eight while striking out 31.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET from Fenway Park. Televised coverage can be found on NESN.
