Red Sox, Dodgers Trade Likely Won't Be Completed Friday Evening

The proposed blockbuster trade between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers, in which Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto would go to L.A. for James Loney and prospects, likely will not be completed on Friday night (when it was first reported), according to sources of WEEI.com's Rob Bradford.

According to a major league source, while the Red Sox and Dodgers remain in advanced talks about a blockbuster to send first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, right-hander Josh Beckett, outfielder Carl Crawford and utility infielder Nick Punto to Los Angeles, no deal between the two teams will be finalized tonight. According to multiple sources, the two teams were in the process of reviewing medical information of those involved in a potential deal. (via WEEI).

In addition to Loney, the trade would give the Red Sox Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa, Ivan DeJesus and Jerry Sands. ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes first reported the deal.
