Red Sox Could Receive Five Players In Blockbuster Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett Trade With Dodgers

New, 1 comment

The Boston Red Sox would receive James Loney, Jerry Sands, Ivan De Jesus, a top prospect, and a player to be named later from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett, and Nick Punto, according to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com.

The player to be named later is likely Rubby De La Rosa, who has pitched in just one game this season.

Loney is a first baseman batting .254 with four homers on the season. Sands has hit .244 in 221 career at-bats with the Dodgers. De Jesus, a second baseman, has 65 career major-league at-bats and has hit .231.

After Adrian Gonzalez was scratched from the lineup today, it appears this trade will be happening soon.
