The New England Patriots (1-1) travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) on Friday at Raymond James Stadium.
The Patriots are coming off a 27-17 loss to the Eagles on Monday. The Patriots decided to rest many starters and contributors in that game due to the short week and the travel to Florida. New England was expecting to make the game against Tampa Bay the first game that the starters got most of the playing time. However, one starter who might not play at all is wide receiver Wes Welker, who did not dress out for practice on Thursday.
The Buccaneers enter the game off of a 30-7 loss to the Tennessee Titans last week. After a Josh Freeman led touchdown drive in the first quarter, Tennessee stifled the Buccaneers' offense. The Titans also rattled off 30 unanswered points to close out the game. Tampa Bay will be looking to bounce back after a forgettable game but has some injury concerns of their own at running back.
