The New England Patriots have signed defensive tackle Kyle Love to a one-year contract extension, according to a report. Love's extension would give his two-year deal a max value of $3.09 million, along with a signing bonus of $500,000.
Love, 25, has performed well during the preseason after a good showing in training camp. Love made two tackles against the Saints in the Patriots' first preseason game, and has made 40 tackles in 25 games (14 starts) for the Patriots over the past two seasons.
Love's agent, Sean Stellato, said about the deal:
"Very deserving client who has worked very hard," Stellato said. "Our company, KLASS Sports, is very happy we were able to do this for the third time. We appreciate the Patriots stepping up and making a commitment to Love at a time when they did not have to do so. Kyle Love has the New England Patriots in his blood."
