Felix Doubront Throws Bullpen Session, Headed For DL?

Boston Red Sox pitcher Felix Doubront threw three simulated innings on Friday and another 45 pitches in a bullpen session in New York. As Doubront is not ready to pitch yet, he may go on the 15-day disabled list.

The left-hander has not pitched since Aug. 9 when he dropped a decision against the Cleveland Indians. There is no timetable on Doubront's return to the starting lineup. However, what is known is that Doubront will throw another simulated session before returning to the lineup.

Doubront is 10-6 on the season with a 4.70 ERA. After picking up his 10th victory of the season in mid-July, Doubront is 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA in his last four starts. He gave up 16 earned runs and 14 walks in those appearances (20 2/3 innings).
